Beatrice has a lifetime of experience as a top-level specialist in classical dance. With 28 years of teaching experience, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge to her classes, all the while instructing, encouraging and promoting students in the world of classical dance.
Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, Beatrice’s career took her from the M.K. Čiurlionis National School of Arts where she graduated as a ballet artist, to the Russian Academy of Theater Arts in Moscow (Giti’s) where she studied ballet apprenticeship, eventually graduating with a Master of Arts degree.
Beatrice started apprenticing at the Moscow Ballet Lyceum and later on at the M.K. Čiurlionis National School of Arts, where she was head teacher for 9 years. As a lifelong practitioner of the ballet arts, Beatrice strives to improve her knowledge and skills, while adapting and implementing the latest and best in various school of ballet, and ballet instruction, all in an effort to better her graduating students. These efforts include learning from and adapting techniques of some of the best ballet teachers worldwide.
Some of the legendary institutes Beatrice attended at part of her enrichment programs were the A.Vaganova Ballet Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia; and enrichment classes from instructors from the Paris Conservatory, Paris, France; the Munich Ballet Academy, Munich, Germany and many more. In fact, Beatrice’s main teaching methods are based on those from A.Vaganova Ballet Academy, but also borrowed heavily from the French Ballet and the Bournonville school of Danish ballet.
Beatrice also developed her own teaching methods over the years and her students gained accolades as award-winners in many ballet competitions. Many of her students went on to pursue Principal and Soloist ballerina careers after graduating, at some of the highest-regarded national operas and ballet theaters in Europe and the world-wide. One such prominent example of a successful student is Margarita Simonova, whom you can see in Valery Todorovski’s film, Bolshoi, where she played and danced the lead role.
Beatrice is happy to call San Diego her home, and she is happy to share some of the teaching methods that made her a success world-round with the young and not-so-young ballet students and established dancers, who are pursuing the very best in ballet education and careers.
